Machine Shop Training Classes

The Machine Shop offers a free training class: the Machine Shop class. There is also a separate Industrial Safety Training class.

  • All classes are free and available to any active UCF student. MAE students have first choice of available classes, and any remaining spots are open to students from the entire university.
  • Once you have requested to join a class, you will get an email from the Machine Shop if there is a spot open for you. For the Machine Shop class, you must reply within 3 days or you'll lose your spot and will be moved to the end of the list.
  • You must be able to attend the hours the class is offered. Attendance is a must — after missing your third class, we will ask you to leave and your spot will be given to another student.
  • Safety is a must in our classes, and we prefer if you attend the Industrial Safety Training course first. If you do not follow safety practices you will be asked politely to leave this class — again, safety is a must.
  • Three Pass/Fail tests will be given weekly for the first three weeks of the class.
